This is cultural theme hotel with an ambience inspired by wines and the Spanish denominations of origin. The hotel has 48 bedrooms distributed over 7 floors. They are constantly renovated and perfectly equipped to satisfy any necessity. The hotel is right in the historic centre of Madrid. The hotel is located in the centre of the artistic area of Madrid, and where the monuments are. It is in the famous “Triangulo del Arte”(triangle of Arts), formed by the three prestigious museums: El Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía Museum and the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, and it is next to the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Calle Huertas, with its lively ambience at night. To wander through the quarter is an unforgettable experience.

  • Negative: Reception staff unbelievably uninformed about Madrid. Wi-fi does NOT function in rooms (I was in 2). It does function in the reception area, but that represents an inconvenience.

  • Location: 10 Walking distance to El Prado, Plaza de Santa Ana, Puerta de Sol, etc.
  • Common facilities and services: 5 Bare bones, but functional.
  • Staff: 5 Friendly and they do their best, but they know surprisingly little about Madrid and are not particularly helpful because of it.
  • Quietness: 5 If you want quiet, ask for an interior room, but there will be no daylight. Street-side rooms will be noisy, but that's Madrid.
  • Room: 5 Two twin beds, fridge, no bureau, TV with fair selection of channels. Bath is fine, but water temperature changes.
  • Value for money: 7.5
