• Value for money: 10 Could have spent more on a different hotel, but why? Would come back to this one if in Madrid again.

• Negative: Front desk service was poor. No wake up call per request. Asked for bucket of ice, and after 45 minutes I went downstairs again and was told to go into the restaurant to get it myself.

• Room: 10 My only complaint, the base board next to the bed was not flush, it had the smallest of unevenness, and the bed was close to it and I stubbed my toe, to the point of bleeding. The wine with dinner might have assisted:)

• Negative: Disorganised at reception - they couldn't find any of our separate bookings, which added a level of concern! Like most contonental hotels - no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
