• Positive: The proximity to all major sights and ameneties. Many, many restaurants and bars and local nightlife. More than enough shops and boutiques for tha retail therapy, but it must be stressed IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE! not only to shop, but also to eat out anywhere half respectable was pretty steep, even the Tapas Bars were overpriced.
• Negative: I was disappointed that the hot option of the breakfast was always the same. But more importantly, no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms! why not?!! Oh! and no film channels in English, drove us nuts! all we could watch, was the news in every language, and National Geographical. When you go to chill out, it would be great to watch a good movie, but not in this hotel.

• Quietness: 10 Windows are double sound-proofed and curtained.
• Room: 7.5 En-suite was very cramped. Not sure why the wash basin was in the main bedroom rather than the separate bathroom. There was a constant foul smell eminating from the drain in the bathroom.
• Value for money: 7.5 Overall, the hotel is in an ideal location for shops, restaurants and sighseeing. We felt very much at home there and will visit again in 2009.

• Location: 10 Perfect location, just off The Rambla, in a quiet street.
• Common facilities and services: 7.5 A very nice bar for a pre dinner drink or nightcap.
• Staff: 10 Very helpful. Always willing to answer questions and we were recommended a perfect restaurant for a special birthday night meal.

• Room: 7.5 The superior room was well appointed. We just had a loose shower head. Shame no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
• Value for money: 10 Not cheap, but good value for money and we will stay there again the next time we visit Barcelona.
