• Positive: The location could not be better. Our balcony overlooked Puerta del Sol. Everything was within walking distance. For those who prefer subway trav el, the Metro was right on Puerta del Sol. The accommodations were excellent. he staff was friendly, helpful, and multilingual. If I were to return to Madrid or know people planning to go to Madrid, I would heartily recommend this hotel.
• Negative: Puerta del Sol never sleeps and some nights the people still out and about got quite noisy. However, when the balcony doors were shut, it was pretty much soundproof.

• Cleanliness: 10 The rooms were clean, as were the common areas. Several evenings we returned to find the maintenance staff cleaning the carpets.
• Location: 10 The location was excellent - truly in the center of Madrid and within walking distance of almost everything. What could not be walked to, could easily be accessed by the subway right in front of the hotel.
• Common facilities and services: 10 Everything was great - the staff was helpful, restaurant was delicious, computer access was provided.
• Staff: 10 We spent six days at the hotel and after the second day, the staff knew who we were. They were always courteous and helpful.
• Quietness: 7.5 Balcony rooms can be noisy at night if the doors are left open. However, when closed, the room was virtually noiseproof.
• Room: 10 European rooms are notoriously smaller than American hotel rooms. By European standards, this room was quite spacious.
• Value for money: 10 To be in the heart of Madrid, within walking distance of most everything, and not have to pay a huge amount for accommodations, this hotel is an exceptional value.

• Positive: The location is fabulous, central to everything and right in the middle of all the excitement - staff very curteous and efficient. Extremely well run establishment, the bathrooms were very polished and spotless, the decor in general very pleasing and wonderful to stand on quality flooring after experiencing other hotels with cheaper fixings. My wake up call and early morning taxi were organized perfectly, and in general I found it to be EXCEPTIONAL value for money.
