The old building was once the dwelling of eminent merchant families and opened as a hotel in 1959. The establishment is comprised of four floors and overlooks a beautiful canal for gondolas only. The Hotel Ateneo has preserved the charm of a typical 17th century Venetian residence. The architectural features of the bedrooms characterize the Venetian design and the fabrics, damasks, and the period furniture boasting a 17th century design, as well as modern comforts, offer our guests Venice’s magical atmosphere in the privacy of their rooms. You can either choose between Standard and Superior Rooms in the Venetian Baroque style of the 1700's: All the rooms are fitted with antique furniture, Murano chandeliers and Baroque fabrics.
